Little is left in the orchard after the passage of the starlings. They’re invasive birds and pests, observing their behavior is nevertheless fascinating. They gather by the hundred on trees, rooftops and antennas, then swarm away swirling in a large black cloud in the sky. It all taks place very quickly, blitzkrieg-style: they land on an olive tree, ravage it and leave. I filmed this clip in february 2010.
