A Sly Kingfisher

The weather was good last week, and still no mosquitoes in sight. Birdwatching time!

We stayed inside the bird hide most of the day. We spent the first hour listening to the shrill voice of a kingfisher, keeping an eye on every possible perch around the shelter, but without seeing it. Finally, it dove. It was then we realized what was going on: the little smartypants had been resting right above our heads, on the roof of the hut!

  1. My hats off to you; I cannot get a good King Fisher photo. They always fly ahead, taunting me, just out of reach of my kayak and lens. Nice. 🙂
